The rich and alert musical language of Emmanuel Nunes measures off the parameters of space and time in ever-changing sonic aspects and moving rhythms. Nunes, Portugal’s major contemporary composer, creates vivid and dynamic sound spaces that keep up an exciting relationship between construction and expression. In its portrait concert, the Remix Ensemble Porto, which has long accompanied Nunes’ career, will, in the presence of the composer, present fundamentally differing pieces and thus provide an insight into the vital variety of Nunes’ compositions.
