The Jury

With the end of the Theatertreffen 2005 Till Briegleb and Wolfgang Kralicek left the jury. We like to thank them for their commitment. The two new members Karin Cerny and Hartmut Krug have already taken up their work for tt 06.

Till Briegleb, Hamburg
Born in Munich in 1962. Studied politics and German literature and language in Hamburg, worked as musician afterwards. From 1991, arts editor of the taz newspaper in Hamburg, from 1997 to its expiry in 2002, arts editor of Die Woche. Freelance work for various newspapers, magazines and books.

Barbara Burckhardt, Berlin
Studied theatre, German and politics in Munich. Worked for many years for the Bayerischer Rundfunk and Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper. Jury member of Impulse festival and the Mülheim Theatre Festival. Since 1997 editorial staff at the journal Theater heute

Christine Dössel, Munich
Born in Pegnitz / Upper Franconia. Internship at the Ring Nordbayerischer Tageszeitungen (association of North Bavarian daily newspapers) in Bayreuth, then studied at the German School of Journalism in Munich, where she has been teaching since 1997. Studied theatre, politics and philosophy, also in Munich. Since 1990 theatre critic at Süddeutsche Zeitung. Various jury memberships, including the selection committee for the Mülheim Dramatist’s Prize. Co-author of an encyclopaedia of theatre for the Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag, and author of a biography of Klaus Maria Brandauer.

Wolfgang Kralicek, Vienna
Born in 1965. Arts editor and theatre critic for the Vienna city magazine Falter. Numerous contributions to German newspapers and magazines. Member of the jury for the Theatertreffen from 1992 to 1995, member of the finalist panel of the 1999 Mülheim Theatertage, co-juror of the 2001 Hamburger Autorentage at the Thalia Theater.
Wolfgang Kralicek

Peter Michalzik, Frankfurt
Born 1963, studied German and philosophy in Munich. Since 1992 freelance journalist, theatre and literary critic, working for most of the large German daily newspapers. Author of several works of non-fiction, including books on Gustaf Gründgens and Siegfried Unseld. Since 2000 a member of the arts and cultural affairs editorial team at Frankfurter Rundschau.
Peter Michalzik

Tobi Müller, Zurich
Born in 1970. Jazz education followed by German German and English language and literature studies in Zurich; stayed in Berlin several times. Has been working as freelance journalist since 1995 (Die Wochenzeitung, Tages-Anzeiger, die tageszeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau, Theater der Zeit, Theater Heute). In 1999 position as "permanent freelance writer" for the NZZ on a two-year-term, since 2001 for Tages-Anzeiger in Zurich. Priorities: theatre, cultural politics and occasionally popular culture.
Tobi Müller

Andreas Wilink, Dusseldorf
Born in 1957. Studied German, history and art history at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf; master of arts; cultural affairs editor at Westdeutsche Zeitung, Düsseldorf, 1988 to 2000, for theatre, film and literature.
Member of the arts and cultural affairs editorial team of the North-Rhine Westphalian edition of Süddeutsche Zeitung, 2001 to 2003, when the edition was discontinued; founder, co-editor and editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine K.WEST – das Feuilleton für NRW. Journalist for Westdeutscher Rundfunk and Theater heute, amongst others; lives in Düsseldorf.
