Claude Régy

Claude Régy (born 1923) is one of the grand masters of French theatre. He has made an uncompromising commitment to contemporary drama, producing the French premieres of many authors from around the world including the British playwrights Pinter, Bond, Sarah Kane and David Harrower, but also Peter Handke, Botho Strauß and, more recently, Jon Fosse. In 1976, Régy founded his own ensemble, Les Ateliers Contemporains. He also directs at the Comédie Française and in opera (Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra Bastille).
